Hairy Business

WOW I haven't posted something in so long, I have been so busy and so much has changed, my fashion, the seasons and my hair...I now have turquoise hair after having red hair for over 2 years.
Thinking back on my red hair, it imposed serious limitations on my outfit choices.

1. Not being able to wear pink, which I loved before, I've seen some girls wear pink with their red hair...but I really couldn't bring myself to do it. Personally pink and red just don't mix, unless its red and say salmon not hot pink!

2. Not being able to wear some of my red clothes, it bothered me to wear too much red, it made it looked as if I was dressing to my hair, or if the red was too close in colour to my hair colour or if the red clothing item such as a scarf or jacket would blend too much with my hair and once again created the way too matchy-matchy look.

3. have not been able to wear my red jewellery, especially earrings as they would just blend right into my hair and could not be seen.

I had done some research before going turquoise as to what colours would not match it...and apparently there is no colour that won't look good with the turquoise. I have only had my hair this colour for a couple of days now so not sure if that is entirely true yet but so far no problems. My turquoise jewellery looks awesome with my hair, I can finally wear pink again, my turquoise clothes aren't creating a turquoise overload so so far I am super happy!

Here is my hair journey to go from red to turquoise with as much detail as I know because it was done by my friend who is a hair stylist

So here is my red hair, I used CrazyColor Fire red to maintain this colour and it always came out really amazing bright vibrant red like in this picture

But last time I coloured it with the CazyColor Fire red it came out like this, very faded, not vibrant at all, when I dyed it I did notice some differences in the dye, it was less creamy in consistency and more liquid, the smell was different and obviously the result was different. Apparently quite a few people have been complaining about the CrazyColor dyes saying that they seem diluted... not surewhat is going on there but I definitely noticed a difference. Good thing I decided on a colour change when I did

This was the end result after bleaching, my stylist used 10vol developer with her bleach on my roots as they had already grown out some and 20vol for the rest of my hair. Prior to this she had tried a colour remover which just wasn't pulling the colour out enough, she then added the bleach on top of the colour remover without having rinsed it and we got this result. She did this at the recommendation of the brand representative, so please don't try this without consulting a professional first. My hair lightened to a light red/pale pink colour which I didn't think was enough for the turquoise at the time but it came out fine actually. I also don't not how my friend did it, but she got my hair this light and I feel no damage to my hair at all which is amazing! My miracle worker!

So I'm a sucker for CrazyColor, I decided to go with CrazyColor Blue Jade, a new colour in the range, when I first rinsed my hair it came out like this, it had a lot of white/grey strands, the colour just wasn't taking for some reason and obviously being a girl and this is my hair I was very worried and stressing about what am I gonna look like? How am I going to go out in public? How can I fix this? I usually make very rash decisions when it comes to my hair if I'm not happy with how it comes out, for instance, I once took my hair from black and trying to go ash blonde, the hairstylist (a different one than the one who helped me with the red and turquoise) had my hair at a really crappy brown blonde colour and I hated it and dyed my hair black all over again. So very stupid on my part not understanding that changing hair colour is a crazy process and can take time. But luckily that was not the case this time, my wonderful boyfriend knows how to handle me and keep me calm, he just got me to re-do the Blue Jade the next day.

And voilĂ , this was the result after a 2nd colouring...and I am so happy with how it turned out! My hair still ombres to a green at the bottom with blue streaks between which is still not 100% what I want but for now it actually looks quite cute and mermaid like so I can deal with it and am absolutely loving the change.

I do really love the Blue Jade colour result at the top of my head, luckily the Blue Jade colour is not anything like the last Fire Red that I used, the consistency was right and the result is vibrant and shiny and not dull in any way!

OOTD School Girl Sass

This was my outfit from last night to watch my boyfriend play soccer and he also happened to be my photographer and decided that my pictures should be skew this time around...
So for this look because I am so eager to skip right into the skirts and shorts but it is still a little chilly at night, I am going with transition type outfits. I went with a school girl look because I love it, kept it pretty simple with black and white with the pop of colour from my skirt, then added edge with my faux under cut hairstyle, chain cuff earring, over the knee boots and the black jacket
